Vegan Food Fest Toronto
A couple of weeks ago, Drew and I went on a two week road trip! We left from home in Durham, NC, drove up to Philadelphia and stayed there for a few days, then went to Niagara Falls, Toronto, and then back down to Murphy, NC to see the eclipse and visit Dollywood. I'll have a more detailed post about the road trip as a whole coming soon, but first I want to talk about the event that inspired it all. Vegan Food Fest!
Drew and I often will plan our trips around one event, even if the event is pretty small, it's motivation for us to actually plan the trip and not just procrastinate on it forever. Well, that's how our two week road trip came to be. We had wanted to do a summer road trip and had been hoping to go up to either Toronto or Montreal during the trip, so when we heard about the Vegan Food and Drink Fest in Toronto, we knew it was meant to be. Going to the festival turned out to be a fantastic decision.
There was some absolutely amazing food there! Some of my favorite spots were No Bones Beach Club, Sausage Party, and Virtuous Pie, because clearly I'm all about the junk food. Wings, loaded hot dogs and pizza are all keys to my heart. I'd seen some pictures and videos of Virtuous Pie and actually even tried to convince my co-workers to have our team meet up in Vancouver a couple of months ago so that I could try it 😂. They didn't go for that, but we did end up in Montreal which still had some very awesome vegan food. Anyway, Virtuous Pie was totally worth the wait, and they're coming to Toronto soon so I can't wait! Between that and Apiecalypse Now the vegan pizza alone will be enough of a reason to make the 12 hour drive back.
Beyond just the food, the entire environment of the festival was awesome. It was a beautiful day, the MC was fun and kept the party hype, there were hilarious signs and cartoons all over, and everyone was friendly.
Anyway, without further ado, here are some pictures from the festival!
